North Wing
Timber beams overhead. A long table.
Matsumoto Castle and the Japanese Alps beyond the window.
North Wing is a private house arranged around its upstairs living floor: close enough to gather, with room to find your own pace.
A place to gather
Upstairs is a 26-tatami living-dining-kitchen.
One person cooks, another reads, someone else watches the view. The room holds different rhythms at the same time.
The long solid-wood table is for more than meals. It carries the house from morning coffee to unhurried evenings.

A place to sleep
Two bedrooms are on the ground floor.
One is finished with tatami; the other has timber flooring.

Bath and castle
Matsumoto Castle stands beyond the bathroom window.
A separate shower room is provided in addition to the bath.
The bathing spaces are divided so the end of the day does not need to be hurried.

Made for a stay
A full kitchen, Wi-Fi, washing machine and dryer, floor heating, and air conditioning.
There are two toilets downstairs and one upstairs.
